- CBSE Class 3
- Easy level
- 8 concepts
1Healthy means the body and mind can do their jobs
Healthy here means you can play, learn, and rest. It is a jobs-word, not a smile-only word.
A forced smile on a tired body is not the test.
Figure. Healthy at this class is a jobs-word: the body and the mind can play, learn, and rest. A forced smile on a tired body fails that test. The arrows run from body and mind to the three jobs because both have to be able to do them.
How it works
- Name a jobPlay, learn, or rest.
- Ask if the body and mind can do it todayRoughly.
- That is the healthy-word for this classNot a clinic chart.
2Sleep, food, water, and play are tests you can keep
Each is a daily job. Missing sleep is a failed test even if the lunch was fine.
One poster listing all four is not the same as doing them.
Figure. Sleep, food, water, and play are four daily tests, not a poster you hang once. A good lunch does not rescue a missed night of sleep. Today the sleep box is the miss — that test failed even though the other three were done.
How it works
- Pick one daily jobSleep, or play.
- Ask if it happenedYes or no.
- If no, that test failed todayFix that job.
3Dirty hands fail a health test you can run
Hands that just played outside can carry dirt to the mouth. Washing is a job you can run before food.
Invisible dirt is still a reason to wash. You do not need to see mud.
Figure. Hands that just played outside can carry dirt you cannot see. The top path skips the wash and goes to the mouth — that fails the test. The bottom path is the job: wash with water and soap if you have it, then eat. Run this before food or after play.
How it works
- Before food or after playA trigger.
- Wash with water and soap if you have itThe job.
- Then eatThe test passed.
4A habit is a repeated job, not a one-day poster
Sleeping on time this week is a habit starting. One late night after a poster is not a habit yet.
Repeat is the word.
Figure. A habit is a repeated job. The top row is sleep-on-time for seven days — that is a habit starting. The bottom row is one poster day and six empty days. One late night after a poster is not a habit yet. Repeat is the word.
How it works
- Name the jobSleep time, or wash.
- Ask if it repeatsMost days.
- If only once, call it a start, not a habitHonest word.
5Sick and healthy are different states of the same body
The same child can be sick on Tuesday and better on Friday. State changed; the person did not become a new person.
Sick is a state that needs rest and adult care. It is not a moral name.
Figure. Sick and healthy are states of the same body, not two different people. Tuesday sick and Friday better can both be true of one child. Sick needs rest and adult care; it is not a moral name. Allow the state to change.
How it works
- Name the personThe same child.
- Name the stateSick, or able to do jobs.
- Allow the state to changeRest can help; adults decide care.
6A medicine is not a substitute for the daily jobs
Medicine is for when an adult says it is needed. It does not replace sleep, food, water, play, or washing.
Taking a tablet instead of sleeping is a miss.
Figure. Medicine is for when an adult says it is needed. The dashed link is labelled not a swap: a tablet does not replace sleep, food, water, or washing. Taking medicine instead of sleeping is a miss. Keep the daily jobs; ask an adult about medicine.
How it works
- Keep daily jobsSleep, food, water, play, wash.
- Medicine only with an adultNot a toy.
- Do not swap medicine for the daily jobsDifferent tools.
7One home case is enough at this class
“I washed before lunch” is a finished case. You do not need a hospital tour.
Ten slogans are weaker than one done job.
Figure. One home case is enough: “I washed before lunch” is a finished job. Ten slogans on the wall are weaker than that one done job. You do not need a hospital tour. Pick one job today, do it or record it, and stop.
How it works
- Pick one job todayWash, or sleep time.
- Do it or record itThe case.
- StopNo city-wide claim.
8A miss: treating “happy” as a food group
Happy is a feeling. It is not a grain or a pulse. Feelings matter; they are not a substitute plate.
A lunch of only “be happy” still needs food.
Figure. Happy is a feeling. It is not a grain or a pulse. Feelings matter; they are not a substitute plate. A lunch of only “be happy” still needs food. Keep food in the food chapter and happy as a feeling word — do not swap them.
How it works
- Keep food in the food chapterMaterial and energy.
- Keep happy as a feeling wordMind-job, not a food group.
- Do not swap themBoth can matter; they are not the same test.
