1The Male Reproductive System

A rumour or a film as “the system” is the wrong size.

2The Female Reproductive System

Female reproductive system: the taught organ-list with one job each (make, path, hold as framed). Stage-names and named jobs only. One honest map is enough.

Figure. Ovary releases the ovum; oviduct is where sperm and ovum can meet; uterus is where a blastocyst can nest; vagina is the birth path. Boxes name the job. This is not a sagittal organ drawing.

3Gametogenesis

Gametogenesis: making the special cells as taught — spermatogenesis and oogenesis as stage-name maps. Meiosis sits here as the count-cut. Stage-names only; no extra how-to.

Mitosis labelled gametogenesis because “cells split” is a miss.

Figure. One primary spermatocyte yields four sperm. One primary oocyte yields one ovum (polar bodies are lost). Bar length is that count, not cell size.

4Menstrual Cycle

A film as “the cycle” is the wrong size.

5Fertilisation and Implantation

Fertilisation and implantation: the join of the two special cells, then the sit-in as taught. Stage-names only. One path-sentence is enough.

A how-to or a film as the heading is the wrong size.

Figure. Fertilisation is the meeting in the oviduct. Implantation is the nest in the uterus. The ovary only releases. Two different places, two different jobs.

7Parturition and Lactation

Figure. Birth is a loop: stretch raises oxytocin, squeeze grows, stretch grows again. Milk is a separate row: suckle, then milk hormones, then milk out. Two jobs, two rows.

8A miss: treating a diagram as the living system

A miss: treating a diagram as the living system. The figure is a map; the body still does the jobs. A perfect textbook colour is a teach-sketch.

Figure. The miss is treating a labelled drawing as the living system. The test is part plus job: what fails if that job stops. A tidy picture with no job is not the chapter.
