- CBSE Class 4
- Easy level
- 8 concepts
1Balanced food, exercise, and rest are three jobs
A body-job set at this class is eat a mix of food kinds, move, and sleep. Three jobs, not one poster-word.
Doing only one and chanting “balanced” fails the other two.
Figure. Balanced at this class is three jobs: a mix of food kinds, move, and rest. Doing only one and saying the word balanced fails the other two.
How it works
- Name food mixMore than one kind on the plate.
- Name movePlay or walk.
- Name restSleep. All three are jobs.
2A meal does a body job, not only a taste job
Food is what the body can use for energy or building. Taste helps you eat it. A plastic sweet fails the body job.
Favourite is allowed; it is not enough.
Figure. A meal does a body job — energy or building. Taste helps you eat it. A plastic sweet has a taste job and fails the body job, so it is not food here.
How it works
- Name the dishThis plate.
- Ask energy or buildingThe body job.
- If it is only plastic, it is not foodA toy fails.
3Plant sources and animal sources are two tests
Grain, fruit, leaf: plant. Milk, egg, meat: animal. A mixed plate can tick both.
Do not sort by which bowl is prettier.
Figure. Plant source or animal source is a test on the food, not on the prettier bowl. Grain, fruit, leaf, pulse are plant. Milk and egg are animal. One plate may tick both.
How it works
- Pick one partThe dal, or the curd.
- Run plant or animalOne test.
- Allow both on one plateTwo ticks.
4Missing a kind of food thins the job
A plate of only sweets is a thinner set of jobs than a plate that also has a grain and a pulse. Thinner — not “poison”.
One meal is not a lifetime. Still name what is missing today.
Figure. Kinds on the plate, not scare words. Sweets only is one kind. Roti, dal, and sabzi is three kinds. Missing a kind thins this meal's jobs — it does not name a poison.
How it works
- List kinds on the plateGrain, pulse, vegetable, milk…
- See a missing kindSay so.
- Call that thinner for this mealNo scare word.
5Gratitude for resources is a habit, not a nutrient
Thanks for food is a habit-word. It is not a grain or a pulse. You still need the food kinds.
A prayer without lunch is not a meal.
Figure. Thanks for food is a habit. It is not a grain or a pulse. A prayer without lunch is not a meal. Both can matter; they are not the same test.
How it works
- Keep thanks as a habitA repeated courtesy.
- Keep food as material and energyThe plate.
- Do not swap themBoth can matter; they are not the same test.
6A poster meal is a record; the test is what you ate
A drawn thali is a record of a plan. The health-test is the meal that reached the mouth.
A pretty poster of five food kinds does not feed you.
Figure. A drawn thali is a record of a plan. The health test is the meal that reached the mouth. If they differ, believe the plate.
How it works
- See the posterA record.
- Ask what was eatenThe test.
- If they differ, believe the plateThe poster is not lunch.
7Keep the claim at this class, not a diet chart
“This lunch had roti, dal, and play after” is a claim. A clinic diet chart is too big for this page.
One day’s jobs are enough.
Figure. This lunch had roti, dal, and play after is a Class 4 claim. A clinic diet chart is a different page. One day's jobs are enough.
How it works
- Name today’s food mixThis plate.
- Name move and rest if you canThe other two jobs.
- StopNo adult diet plan.
8The next chapter will add feeling well
Food, move, rest live here. Happy-as-a-record and sick-as-a-state wait next. Do not steal those words yet.
A food page that only says “be happy” is the next chapter.
Figure. Food mix, move, and rest live on this page. Feeling well — happy as a record, sick as a state — waits in the next chapter. Do not steal those words yet.
How it works
- Finish the three jobsFood mix, move, rest.
- Flag feeling-well as nextHappy record, sick state.
- Keep this page on the plate and the playNot a mood poster.
