  • CBSE Class 4
  • Easy level
  • 8 concepts

1Happy can name a time; healthy names jobs the body can do

“I was happy at the game” is a time-record. Healthy means you can play, learn, and rest. Two words, two tests.

A forced smile on a tired body is not the healthy-test.

Figure. Happy names a time you can point to. Healthy names a job the body can still do. They are not the same word.

How it works

  1. If you say happyName when.
  2. If you say healthyName a job the body can do.
  3. Do not swap the wordsFeeling-time versus jobs.

2Write when you feel happy — that is a record, not a food

A sentence “happy after play” is a record. It is not a grain. You still need lunch.

A diary of happy times is not a food group.

Figure. Writing when you feel happy is a record. Rice and dal are food. A feeling line does not belong on a food plate.

How it works

  1. Write the timeAfter play, or with a friend.
  2. Keep it as a recordA note.
  3. Do not put it on the plate as a foodDifferent test.

3Sleep, play, and clean hands are tests you can keep

Each is a daily job. Missing sleep fails even if play was long. Dirty hands fail before food.

A poster listing all three is not the same as doing them.

Figure. Sleep, play, and clean hands are three tests you can run at home. Each is a job you can point to, not a mood word.

How it works

  1. Pick one jobSleep, play, or wash.
  2. Ask if it happenedYes or no.
  3. If no, that test failed todayFix that job.

4A habit is a repeated job

Washing most days is a habit starting. One wash after a poster is not a habit yet.

Repeat is the word.

Figure. A habit is the same job coming around again. Wash, eat, and sleep form one home loop — not a one-off treat.

How it works

  1. Name the jobWash, or sleep time.
  2. Ask if it repeatsMost days.
  3. If only once, call it a startNot a habit yet.

5Sick and healthy are different states of the same body

The same child can be sick on Tuesday and better on Friday. State changed; the person did not become someone else.

Sick needs rest and adult care. It is not a moral name.

Figure. Sick and healthy are two states of one body. The person did not change into someone else; only the jobs the body can do changed.

How it works

  1. Name the personThe same child.
  2. Name the stateSick, or able to do jobs.
  3. Allow the state to changeAdults decide care.

6One home case is enough

“I washed before lunch” is a finished case. You do not need a hospital tour.

Ten slogans are weaker than one done job.

Figure. One home story is enough: slept, then played, then washed. You do not need a long list to see the jobs.

How it works

  1. Pick one job todayWash, or sleep time.
  2. Do it or record itThe case.
  3. StopNo city-wide claim.

7A miss: treating happy as a food group

Happy is a feeling-time. It is not a pulse. A lunch of only “be happy” still needs food.

Feelings matter; they are not a substitute plate.

Figure. The miss is treating happy as a food group. Happy is a time you felt something. Food groups stay on the plate.

How it works

  1. Keep food on the plateMaterial and energy.
  2. Keep happy as a record of a timeA feeling-word.
  3. Do not swap themTwo tests.

8Rest is a job the body needs, not laziness

Sleep and quiet rest let the body do tomorrow’s jobs. Calling rest “lazy” fails the job-test.

Rest is not a skip of food or wash.

Figure. Rest is a job the body needs, like sleep after play. Calling it laziness names the job wrongly.

How it works

  1. Name rest as a jobSleep, or quiet time.
  2. See that it helps other jobs laterPlay and learn.
  3. Do not rename it lazinessThe job-word stays.
Happy after a game is
  1. A time-record, not a food
  2. A pulse
  3. Proof you skipped sleep

Write when. It does not feed you.
