1Investigating Water’s Disappearing Act
A wet plate dries. The water did not vanish from the world — it went into the air as vapour you cannot see. Disappearing here is a change of state, not a magic delete.
“It was stolen” without a test is a story.

2Another Mystery
A cold glass “sweats”. That water did not leak from inside if the glass is closed — it came from vapour in the air that turned liquid on the cold surface. Mystery means a second change of state you can name.
Wiping the sweat and calling it a leak from the drink is a miss if the glass did not drip from a crack.

3What are the different States of Water?
Ice is solid water. The drink is liquid water. Steam and unseen vapour are gas. Three states, one substance if you can argue the same water moved.
Oil is not a state of water.

4How can we change the States of Water?
Heat can melt ice and boil water. Cool can freeze water and condense steam. The change needs a reason you can name: heat added or taken, or pressure in a later class — here, stay with heat and cool you can arrange.

5How can Water be Evaporated Faster or Slower?
Evaporation speeds up with more heat, more wind, and more open surface. A wide plate dries faster than a narrow bottle of the same water. A lid slows it.
Stirring a slogan without changing heat, wind, or surface is not a speed-test.

Wide versus narrow
Equal water in a wide plate and a narrow glass sit in the same room. Which should dry first, and why?

6Cooling Effect
When water evaporates from skin or a wet cloth, it takes heat from that surface. The surface feels cooler. That is the cooling effect — not a new kind of ice.
A dry cloth in the same wind does not cool the same way.

7How do Clouds give us Rain?
Cloud drops can join and grow until they fall. Rain is liquid water arriving from those drops. This class names the idea; it does not demand a weather-station proof from one window.
Every white patch in the sky is not automatically rain in the next minute.

8Ice, water, and steam are one substance in three states
Melt the ice, you still have water. Boil it, you still have the same substance as steam. Three costumes, one substance-word at this class.
Steam from a kettle is not a new chemical you invented.
