How do Organisms Reproduce?

1DO ORGANISMS CREATE EXACT COPIES OF THEMSELVES?

Exact copies: asexual restarts are a copy-story as the lesson framed them; even then, small differences can appear. Sexual restarts mix two parents’ contributions as taught. “Exact” is a question, not a yes-stamp. Do not add extra private how-to.

A photocopier joke is not the living job.

Figure. DNA is copied before a new organism is made. Most copies match; a slip makes a changed copy. Offspring are not required to be exact twins of the parent.

2MODES OF REPRODUCTION USED BY SINGLE ORGANISMS

Single-organism modes are asexual jobs: split, bud, runner, spore — as named. One parent, a restart. Mode is the job-name, not a film. One Hydra-or-plant case the book used is enough.

A machine that stamps toys is not this living mode.

3SEXUAL REPRODUCTION

Sexual reproduction is a two-parent join as a stage-name: two special cells, a join, a new body can start — only the words the lesson used. Human detail stays on the named-jobs map; no rumour, no film as given.

Curiosity about a classmate’s body is not a classroom measurement.

Figure. Sexual reproduction needs two gametes. They fuse to one zygote; that zygote grows into the offspring. One parent alone is not this mode.

How it works

4A definition is a test you can run

Reproduction is a test: one parent or two, plus a taught restart. If you only say “life continues”, you have a heading.

Using the word as a joke is not the definition.

5Name the given before the unknown

The given is what the lesson named. The unknown is asexual versus sexual. Do not add a rumour as if it were given.

A film scene is not the given.

One honest case is enough. A page of the same bud-clone does not add a new human job.

Ten twins of “life continues” are still a heading.

Figure. One school case is enough: a hydra keeps its body and grows a bud. The bud leaves as a new hydra. That is still one parent.

7A miss: swapping the school name for the picture

A nest-photo is a setting. The science is parent-count plus a taught job. Cute is not asexual.

A cartoon stork is not the map.

8Check by the opposite action or the opposite test

Check a sort by parent-count: one → asexual as taught; two plus a join-stage → sexual as taught. A job-name that was not listed fails the opposite test.

A rumour that “everyone already knows” is not the check.
