Life Processes in Animals

1Nutrition in Animals
Nutrition in animals is taking in food and breaking it so the body can use it. At this class you name the path you were taught (mouth, a tube, parts with jobs) — not a medical map of every organ.
A plate of food in a photo is not the path.
Figure. Food travels a path you can point to: mouth, food pipe, stomach, then the intestines. Class 7 names the parts and the job, not enzyme pathways.

2Respiration in Animals
Respiration in animals is the gas-job: taking in the air-component the body needs and giving out the one it must dump, as taught. It is not the same word as “breathing movement” only — the movement serves the gas-job.
A still toy that “looks like it breathes” in a cartoon is not this job.
Figure. Air enters at the nostrils, travels the windpipe, and reaches the lungs. That path is respiration at this class: parts you can point to, not a biochemistry chain.

3A definition is a test you can run
A life-process is a job you can name: nutrition, respiration, as on this page. If you cannot name the job, you have a heading only.
“Animals live” is not a process-test.
Figure. Living is a test: takes food, grows, responds. A toy dog can look like a dog and still fail every job.

4Name the given before the unknown
The given is the animal and the process asked. The unknown is a job along the path. Do not paste a plant’s food-making into the animal path.

One path-sketch is enough. A page of the same mouth-clone does not add a new gas-job.
Ten twins of one swallow are still one idea.

6A miss: swapping the school name for the picture
A farm-animal photo is a setting. The science is the job-path. Counting animals in the photo and skipping the path is the swap-miss.
A cute picture is not nutrition.
Figure. A pretty animal drawing is not the chapter. The test is the job: does this living thing take food, grow, or breathe?

7Check by the opposite action or the opposite test
Check a path-claim by asking where the food or the gas goes next. If you cannot name the next job, the path is a poster.
Repeating “they eat” is not the opposite test.
Figure. Breathing has an opposite pair: air in, then air out. If only one arrow is present, the check has not been run.
