Chemical Coordination and Integration

1Endocrine Glands and Hormones

2Human Endocrine System
Human endocrine system: the taught gland-list (pituitary, thyroid, adrenal, pancreas, gonads as listed) each with one job-sentence. Human is the map, not a clinic-manual. One job per gland is enough.
A ten-drug list as the system is the wrong size.

3Hormones of Heart, Kidney and Gastrointestinal Tract
Hormones of heart, kidney and gastrointestinal tract: extras besides the classic glands as taught — a named heart/kidney/gut signal. Extra is still a blood-cue, not a vitamin. One name each if listed.
Skipping these because “only big glands count” hides the heading.
Figure. Heart, kidney, and gut also make hormones. ANF, erythropoietin, and gastrin are the Class 11 names.

4Mechanism of Hormone Action
Mechanism of hormone action: a receptor-fit as taught — the cell that has the receptor hears the signal. Mechanism is fit-and-cue, not a second gland-list. Membrane versus inner receptor if split. School-size only.
A “try harder” slogan as the mechanism is a miss.
Figure. Peptides stop at the membrane and use a second messenger. Steroids enter and act on genes. Same blood ride; two doors.

5A hormone is a chemical signal in blood
A hormone is a chemical signal in blood: tiny amount, a named target, a job-change as taught. Hormone is the signal-word, not a nutrient. Stage-names only.
Sugar as “a hormone” because blood carries it is a miss.
Figure. The hormone is a blood-borne signal. Only a cell with the matching receptor is the target. Other cells ignore it.

6A gland has a job you can name
A gland has a job you can name: pituitary as a master-cue if taught, thyroid as a rate-cue, pancreas as a sugar-cue — as the lesson framed each. Gland is name-plus-job. A mute labelled blob is not this heading.
A “gland” sticker with no job is a miss.
Figure. Name the gland by the job: thyroid makes thyroxine, which sets how fast the body uses food. A label without a job is a glossary.

7A miss: treating a hormone as a vitamin
A miss: treating a hormone as a vitamin. A vitamin is a food-helper; a hormone is a made-here signal. Mixing the two words is the leftover this heading names.
A pill-bottle labelled hormone as the whole science is the miss.
Figure. A hormone is made in the body and sent in blood. A vitamin is taken in food. Sharing a chemical name does not make them the same job.

8Keep the claim at this class
Keep the claim at this class: named glands, named jobs, a receptor-fit. It is not a medical lecture and not a rumour. Reproduction-jobs stay as stage-names if listed — no extra private how-to.
A film or a rumour as “the endocrine chapter” is the wrong size.
